About me:
(b.1989) Composer, arranger and performer, Paul Milkent studied music composition at Lake County Community College in Illinois under composer David Jennings and piano under Olga Bornovalova. Paul performed in several piano recitals while receiving his associate degree in arts in 2018. A Chicago born native, Paul’s early love for film helped introduce him to the works of Danny Elfman, catapulting him to pursue a career in film music at a later age. This influence has inspired Paul to create works that evoke a sense of fantasy and storytelling.
Paul graduated from Columbia College Chicago in the Spring of 2023 earning a bachelor's degree in Music Composition and a minor in Film Studies while studying under Grammy nominated composer Ilya Levinson. Paul has written and performed with the New Music Ensemble under Music Department Chairman Sebastian Huydts. He composed a cello solo while studying under Hollywood Composer Ceiri Torjussen and Jonathan Miller and orchestrated a woodwind quintet, string quintet. Paul scored a short silent film under Emmy award winning composer Michael McCuistion. While completing music for a 3-movement violin concerto for the live dance Mascaras Contrarias , and composed music for the short musical Silverware.
